F.A.Q
-
Can I use a SUP, Sit-on-top, Ski or Inflatable kayak?
Sorry those boats are specifically excluded in the race.
-
How much training do I need to do?
For the non-stop race, you should be stable and comfortable in your boat by September, to ensure you can train throughout the winter months. We would expect 2-5 sessions per week on the water, and additional complementary training such as running, gym work etc
The stages race can be done with slightly less training; however the more time you spend on the water, the more chance you have of completion. -
What is the course record?
The non-stop course record was set in 1979, in an incredible 15hours 34 minutes.
-
Can I start before 7am?
Out of respect to the residents, the earliest start is 7am.
